HeliTach

Just brought HeliTach 2.1 for my iPhone.  This will mean I can use my phone as an acoustic tachometer to get the head speed of my heli’s.  Have to be honest never really thought about it, other than setting my throttle curve at 100%. This approach normal gives you a fiendish head speed but thought I would try this app for the scientific way anyway.

Align 250 flybarless?

Been looking at the Align 3G flybarless system  and considering if it should be put on the 250 for experimental purposes.   I could do with finding out if flybarless is the way to go.  On the plus side there is less to break in a crash but on the negative side there is an upfront cost.   hmm.. thoughts anyone?

Inverted circuits part 1..

After successful going “upside down” before Christmas 2009 I have been attempting to do circuits or figures-of-eight since then.   I reckon this is a needed skill to push my flying on but also have feeling that it will cost me money..  Still this is this Saturdays attempt.

Protos rebuilt!

Okay, so here is the rebuilt and shiny Protos.  The eagle eyed amongst you will notice the new carbon frames.  Decided to see if they would add any extra strength to it.  There is a lot of talk on the various internet forums that the Protos breaks easily and plastic v’s carbon debate will go on till the model is discontinued.   So I thought I should try..

Protos in pieces

I was flying the Protos near the house and I lost orientation.  Some times you can send them into the ground at quite spectacular speeds and hardly anything breaks.  This wasn’t one of these times
